"lyyke OMG ur in a sorority! awesome!"
"so... are you drunk right now?"
"so... when is your next naked party?"
"oh so which frat guy are you dating?"
--------------------------------------------------
these are all the common responses I hear when telling someone I am a "sorority girl"
I bet being in Kappa Delta has been way fun but sometimes its hard to remember considering its all a naked, drunken blur.... oh wait.
I used to be a bit reluctant to tell someone I was in a sorority.
It gives them all these stereotypical ideas about me and turns them off
(oh so I'm rich, snobby, daddy buys you whatever you want and clearly I'm blonde)
Or it turns them on too much
("oh you're in a sorority? we should hang out sometime......."
"....how about no?")

So, here's the real story.
I joined Kappa Delta my freshman year, but didn't go through formal rush. I was in a special pledge class of only 3 girls-- "The Triplets". As I look back to those days I had no idea what Kappa Delta would really have to offer me... the best years of my life.
Kappa Delta has kept my close with my longest and best friend
Introduced me to my little sis and one of my best friends
Given me service opportunities through philanthropies
given me the best roomies
As a senior I am really struggling with the thought that this is my last year and soon I wont be surrounded by 70 girls and the thought of it terrifies me. Thank goodness once your a KD, you're always a KD
Each year at recruitment I have the privilege of singing "For Good" from
Wicked and how true those lyrics are... "because I knew you, I have
been changed for the better"
my other half.
given me my significant other.
given me my family.
taught me wrestling skills.
Kappa Delta isn't a status symbol. Its not some letters you wear on your T-shirt.
Kappa Delta is a Network. A support system. A bond. A Promise. A Trust. A Love. A Progression. It's a Sisterhood. A Growth. A Standard. A Commitment. A Privilege.
That's why I love Kappa Delta.
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for these girls and I know that they would do the same for me. They push me to always strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest. They have given me the confidence to do things I never thought I could have. There is truly nothing like the bonds that we have in Kappa Delta and it will be something I will always cherish. These past four years at USU have been the best years of my life and I know I owe that all to my amazing Kappa Delta Sisters. I have met my very best friends in here and know that our friendship will continue to grow even as we grow old and our hair gets thin & gray, and we get wrinkly and saggy; but we will look back and just laugh & cry back on the good old days of KD.
Love in AOT

but like I always say... "Kappa Delta is only a better way of stumbling up the back stairs and walking out the front door"
Youre cute sista. I am proud of you. Love Krista
